Board to debate possibility of all-day kindergarten

Bottom line

The school board will discuss the possibility of implementing full-day kindergarten classes. Right now, half-day classes are the only option available.

Background

Having students stay in class for all-day kindergarten sessions would make teaching easier for teachers, some of whom find it difficult to squeeze in all the curriculum into half-day sessions.

But it would cost extra money for the district to do so. It would have to pay $800,000 in local costs to implement all-day kindergarten.
