Today is the deadline for payment of real estate and personal property taxes.

Payments can be made at any of the three Douglas County Treasurer’s offices: the courthouse, 1100 Mass.; Dillons, 3000 W. Sixth St.; or Park Plaza South, 2108 W. 27th St., Suite 1. Drop boxes are available in the courthouse and Park Plaza parking lots.

Payments that are mailed will be processed without penalty if postmarked on or before today.

Online payments can be made at www.douglas-county.com. Credit card payments will be accepted up to $3,499. They carry a 3.49 percent fee. Payment by e-check carries a fee of $1 and there is no limitation on the amount of payment.

If you have lost your payment stub, go to the “E-government” section of www.douglas-county.com., click on “online valuation and tax information” to find the amount owed. This site doesn’t calculate late fees. After today, you must call 832-5178 to find the total amount due or for more information.
