Ex-deputy enters plea in domestic case

A man who was a Douglas County sheriff’s deputy at the time of his arrest earlier this year for domestic battery has entered a plea to a reduced charge.

Adam S. Hoover, 30, who no longer is employed by the county, pleaded guilty Thursday to disorderly conduct as part of a plea agreement. District Judge Stephen Six ordered him to serve six months on probation and set an anger-management course as a condition of probation.

Hoover was arrested by Lawrence police on March 20 after a fight with his wife, who alleged in court records that he shoved her with his forearm during an argument.
