Tools stolen from high school recovered

Thousands of dollars worth of hand tools taken in a weekend burglary at the Lawrence High School auto shop, 1901 La., have been recovered, Lawrence police said Tuesday.

Two teenagers are suspected in the burglary, which, according to school surveillance camera tapes, occurred about 4 a.m. Sunday.

The suspects, 17- and 14-year-old boys, were questioned and released to their parents, police said.

Police school resource officers are continuing to investigate the burglary, and no arrests have been made.

Information is being forwarded to the Douglas County District Attorney’s office for review.

The tools, with a total value estimated at about $4,000, belonged to the school and to students. Police are not saying where the tools were recovered.
