Vendors from across the country will be coming to Lawrence this weekend, looking to sell their time-tested wares during the Lawrence Antique Automobile Swap Meet.
The event runs from noon until dark Friday, 6 a.m. to dark Saturday and 6 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 19th and Harper streets.
More than 500 vendors from California to Florida are lined up to take part in the 44th annual extravaganza, which will be expected to attract more than 10,000 classic-car collectors, tinkerers and bargain hunters.
"A lot of the vendors clean out their garages," said Joe Arneson, Swap Meet chairman for the past six years. "They bring old tools, gas cans and everything else they could sell. There's a little bit of everything."
Parking is $3. Proceeds from the event finance youth scholarships and donations to local charities.
