To the editor:

Thank you for the article about the children’s book “Catfish Cookies.” Regrettably, Gabrielle Iversen, the artist who created the wonderful, engaging illustrations, was not mentioned. Gabrielle, our daughter, was working for Kaw Valley Heritage Alliance at the time and also has taught many classes at the Lawrence Arts Center. She is currently finishing a master’s degree in teaching art at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Ore.

Gabrielle is a committed environmentalist and was delighted to contribute her work to this project highlighting the importance of the health of our rivers. Anyone who reads the book will appreciate her part in bringing the story to life.
