Beer Madness vote taken online

If your bracket’s pretty much a loss as college men’s basketball moves into Final Four games, then there’s always Beer Madness. Thirty-two brews are competing for the top spot in a Washington Post online poll.

In the Beer Madness quarterfinals, Pete’s Wicked Ale fell to Ellie’s Brown Ale of Colorado by a 3 to 2 vote. Rolling Rock, the last remaining big-league brew (it’s owned by Anheuser-Busch), was knocked out by Brooklyn Lager, also on a 3 to 2 tally.

On the other side of the bracket, Saranac Pale Ale of Utica, N.Y., rolled over Delaware’s Dogfish Head Shelter Pale Ale, 4 to 1, while Dominion Ale of Virginia ousted Allagash White, the final wheat beer contender, 3 to 2.
