Advanced Homecare LLC in Lawrence earned the Gold Seal of Approval and received accreditation from the Joint Commission.

Advanced Homecare, 2500 W. 31st St., scored in the top 5 percent of medical equipment providers across the nation during the commission’s evaluation process.

The award recognizes the company’s dedication to complying with the commission’s standards for health care quality and safety. The commission evaluated the company in December.

Advance Homecare is partnering with eight doctors to open a 28,000-square-foot building in Ottawa in mid-2008, said Sandra London-Leib, chief executive officer.

The company also is pursuing plans to expand into Eudora.
