Lawrence contestant seeks Junior Miss title
A Lawrence woman will be among 11 contestants for the Kansas Junior Miss scholarship program at 7 p.m. Saturday at Republic County High School in Belleville.
Megan Barfield, Lawrence, and 10 others will be judged on scholastics, interview, talent, fitness and self-expression to earn the title of Kansas’s Junior Miss.
The winner will go to Mobile, Ala., in June for the America’s Junior Miss National Finals. More than $100,000 in scholarships will be up for grabs in that competition.
The 2006 Kansas Junior Miss is a Kansas University freshman, Kendra Brown, who will be on hand at the Kansas competition.
