Emporia ? The Free State High swimming and diving team took second, and Lawrence High finished third at the Emporia High School Girls Invitational on Tuesday.

Divers competed Monday, when Free State’s Carol Fittell and Lawrence High’s Mallory West finished first and second.

In Tuesday’s swimming competition, LHS’ Elle Weber took first in the 100-yard breast stroke. Free State’s Katie Sloan won the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly events, while teammate Sarah Clark won the 100 freestyle.
