Lawrence Education Association and KU Credit Union recently presented the 57th Legacy Award to Mary Beasley, library-media specialist at Wakarusa Valley School.

As library-media specialist, Beasley works with every student and teacher in the building, according to Adela Solis, LEA president, and Kirsten Flory, KU Credit Union business development representative.

Beasley’s activities include providing birthday books for each student and organizing book fairs, Flory and Solis said.

Beasley has worked for Lawrence public schools since 1976.
