Ex-FEMA director to speak at Dole Institute

The Dole Institute of Politics has added programs to its list of speakers and events for March and April.

Speakers include Michael Brown, former director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Brown resigned from FEMA under pressure after criticism of the federal response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Other speakers include Wall Street Journal reporter Bobby Block, Pulitzer Prize winner Edward Humes and author John Patrick Diggins.

Block will speak about homeland security Wednesday.

Humes will discuss the evolution vs. intelligent design debate on March 28.

Brown will speak April 4, and Diggins will discuss his most recent book, “Ronald Reagan: Fate, Freedom and the Making of History” on April 17.

All four speeches will begin at 7:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
