City benefits

To the editor:

The comment from Commissioner David Schauner about the spending of money for candidates to me is questionable to say the least. Why would anyone in Lawrence spend that much when they have endorsements from their cronies.

But the bigger question I would pose to all five current city commissioners is: How do you think you could get elected when the simplest of tasks cannot be accomplished. Hint: Repave my alley before April and you might get a vote. The last time anything was done was before Buford Watson’s death.

And to the top vote-getters: If you are elected, you best have a plan to keep the alley maintained or you get voted out.

Hint to all candidates: Do something that benefits all of Lawrence; thus far that has not happened.
