Police investigating home invasion

March 4, 2007

Lawrence police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Missouri Street early Saturday morning on a report of a home invasion.

According to Sgt. Susan Hadl, police were contacted at about 3 a.m. Saturday morning regarding the presence of a man wearing a ski mask and holding a handgun in an apartment where four females were present.

The women in the apartment were able to isolate themselves in one room of the apartment, away from the suspect.

The suspect left the apartment shortly before police arrived. It was not clear Sunday morning if the suspect took anything from the apartment.

No arrest had been made so far. The ages of the women were not available Sunday morning.

The suspect description is a white male, approximately 5 feet-7 inches tall in his mid to late 20s. At the time of the incident, he wore green pants with a black top.

Lawrence police ask anyone with information regarding the incident to call 843-TIPS.

"Home invasion" is when people are home. You can get more when terrorized victims are there giving you pin numbers and unlocking safes, it seems.
