A car crashed into a Lawrence grocery store Saturday after causing another accident, Lawrence police said.
The PT Cruiser was leaving Hy-Vee, 4000 W. Sixth St., when it pulled out in front of traffic about 11:35 a.m., said Sgt. Bill Cory, a police spokesman. After crashing with a Ford Thunderbird, it "spun around, accelerated back into the parking lot and hit the building."
It's unknown whether a mechanical failure caused the driver, Joan Lindford, to lose control, he said.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital but were later released.
Lindford was cited for failing to yield when entering the roadway, Cory said.
There was no major damage to the grocery store.
