Alan C. Anderson, Lawrence, has joined the Corporate Department of Blackwell Sanders LLP, a law firm in Kansas City, Mo., as a partner.

Anderson is concentrating his practice in energy law, including conventional and unconventional exploration and production as well as renewable resources.

Anderson joins the firm after working for Fenix Resources LLC, a company that acquires oil and gas properties. He is a member of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association and Eastern Kansas Oil & Gas Association.

Anderson previously has worked at the Kansas City law firm of Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP, and with Layne Christensen Co. as a senior attorney focused on energy and corporate law with responsibility for Layne Energy Inc.

He earned his law degree from the University of Oklahoma.
