Free State’s Abney, Hull on all-state team

Free State High’s Livi Abney and Maggie Hull have been named to the Class 6A All-State team as selected by the Kansas Softball Coaches Association.

Abney, a senior second baseman, and Hull, a sophomore outfielder, were among 18 players earning first-team honors. Class 6A state champion Olathe East dominated the first team with six selections

Free State’s Allie Hock, a senior catcher, was chosen to the second team.

In Class 4A, Eudora catcher Evan Folks and infielder Caitlyn Riser were first-team picks along with Baldwin pitcher Callie Craig. Eudora also placed outfielder Mackenzie Salzman and pitcher Brynn Hamilton on the second team along with Baldwin infielder Alex Zordel.

In Class 3A, McLouth had three first-teamers in Kendall Patterson, Lu Lu Lawson and Samantha Farris.

In Class 5A, Ottawa landed two second-team berths – pitcher Ashlee Moore and outfielder Juianne George.
