KU center offers seminars Friday

The Kansas University Small Business Development Center will present two seminars Friday: one for people interested in starting or growing a small business, and the other offering information about financial software.

¢ “The Right Start,” from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the center, 734 Vt., suite 104. It will cover licensing, permits, registration, taxes, accounting, marketing, business plan writing, financing and other issues. The seminar, for which Central National Bank is a sponsor, is free; a resource notebook is available for $15. Preregistration is required.

¢ “The Complete Quickbooks Pro,” from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Summerfield Hall at Kansas University. A certified instructor will teach participants how to manage financial information, such as setting up business accounts, managing charts, paying bills, creating invoices, processing payroll, and tracking customers, vendors and employees. Cost is $140.
