Four from Lawrence on energy council

Gov. Kathleen Sebelius has appointed three Lawrence residents and reappointed another one to serve four-year terms on the Kansas Energy Council.

The governor’s office announced Monday that Lucas Bell, Steven Johnson and William Riggins, all of Lawrence, will join Mike Kelley and Hans Nettelblad, both of Overland Park, as new council members.

Sarah Dean, Lawrence, was reappointed along with Ken Frahm, Colby; Joe Dick, Kansas City, Kan.; and Gregory Krissek, Wichita.

The energy council encourages energy-related research, development and production in the state. Sebelius has set a goal that 10 percent of the state’s electricity come from renewable sources by 2010 and 20 percent by 2020.
