A 43-year-old Lawrence man was sentenced to 56 months in prison Thursday for one count of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of attempted indecent liberties with a child for molesting his 16-year-old daughter.

Douglas County District Judge Michael Malone issued his ruling late Thursday, giving the man 127 days credit for time already spent at the Douglas County Jail.

He will be required to register as a sex offender and complete two years of postrelease supervision upon his release.

The man, who is not being identified to protect the identity of the victim, previously had been cited for driving under the influence.
