KU architecture school ranked No. 6 in country

A publication has named Kansas University’s School of Architecture and Urban Planning one of the top 10 architecture schools in the country.

KU’s undergraduate architecture program took the No. 6 spot in the annual “America’s Best Architecture and Design Schools” rankings compiled by DesignIntelligence. KU tied with Auburn University and Cal Tech.

Cornell University in New York took the top spot. The only other Big 12 school to make the top 10 was the University of Texas at No. 9.

KU Architecture Dean John C. Gaunt said in a prepared statement that he was pleased about the recognition despite the subjective nature of architecture that makes it difficult to compare schools.
