Helping people who may fall between the cracks during a health crisis is the mission for Kalli Sanders, a Lawrence woman who has suffered from health problems herself.

So she’s organizing Kallipalooza II, a benefit for a local woman who recently was diagnosed with cancer for the third time. The event is slated from 7 p.m. to midnight July 6 at Liberty Hall.

The original Kallipalooza benefited Sanders. Now that she is healthy again, she believes it’s important to pay it forward.

“I was really sick last year and had a ton of friends who did amazing things for me,” Sanders said.

The concert will feature music by the New Alligators and the Lonesome Houndogs, along with a silent auction.

Last year, $1,500 was raised, and Sanders said she is hoping to raise $2,000 this year, as well as make it an annual event. Tickets are $10 and available at Liberty Hall, 644 Mass., or through Ticketmaster.
