The Journal-World is planning a special section about aging in Lawrence and wants to hear your stories about growing older.

Tell us about your experiences related to housing, social, health care and family needs.

What does the city need to do to reach out to its aging population? How can senior citizens become involved in the community? What can the city do to attract boomers thinking about where to retire?

Go to www.LJWorld.com/aging to leave your story or suggestion and to respond to a survey. Or contact managing editor Dennis Anderson at (785) 832-7194 or e-mail him at danderson@ljworld.com.

What the city wants is 30-40 somethings who can afford big homes on the west side, pay taxes and spend money at all the big shopping areas in town. There is no place for the young or old in Lawrence.
