To the editor:

We want to thank Jason Elmquist and the Journal-World for their coverage of the just-completed AFA National Softball Tournament.

Jason was in attendance from opening day activities on Monday, July 16, through the tournament finals on Saturday, July 21. He watched games, kept score sheets and recorded numerous interviews. He had to be at the complex for 8 a.m. games and had to spend late nights meeting deadlines after late games.

Jason specifically covered games played by the two Lawrence Phenix 18-year-old teams (Rusk and Fyler) as well as the Tonganoxie Braves and Ottawa Sabotage teams. Each of the four teams played seven games, and Jason was there for most of them, as well as the championship games.

The coverage and the interviews by Jason are appreciated.
