Artist explores the alphabet

Artist Stephen Johnson shows us “An Abstract Alphabet: New Work at the Spencer Museum of Art,” beginning tonight on “River City Weekly.”

Johnson’s work playfully explores the visual aspects and symbolism of the alphabet through a variety of forms including painting, sculpture and collage. Johnson’s exhibit at the Spencer runs through Aug. 5.

Then on “Better Health” from Lawrence Memorial Hospital, physical therapist Sara Johnston talks about “Fit for Two,” an exercise class for pregnant women that helps improve overall fitness in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

“River City Weekly,” with host Greg Hurd, premieres on Sunflower Broadband Channel 6 at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays with replays at 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays, 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Fridays, 9 a.m. Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Mondays, and 10 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays.
