Parking institute board adds director

Donna Hultine, director of the Parking and Transit Department at Kansas University, has been elected to the board of directors for the International Parking Institute, a 1,300-member trade organization that provides leadership, information and education for professionals in the parking and transit industry.

Hultine, a certified administrator of public parking who has worked in the KU department since 1981 and has served as its director since 2002, was one of three directors elected to the 12-member board. She started her two-year term in May.

Institute members include leaders from major transit authorities, airports, hospitals, universities, corporate complexes, shopping centers, government agencies, convention and sports centers, theme parks, hotels, casinos, manufacturers and equipment suppliers.

Other members include product and service providers, architects, parking industry consultants, independent engineers, financial planners and consultants, and owners and operators of private parking lots and facilities such as parking operations at airports, hotels, casinos, and shopping and convention centers.
