A 10-year-old Lawrence boy on a bike was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries this afternoon following an accident with a vehicle at Lawrence Avenue and Applegate Court.

Officials said the boy was riding his bike east on Applegate Court and failed to stop or yield the right of way to a 79-year-old Lawrence woman driving south on Lawrence Avenue. The woman was not injured.

The accident occurred about 2:40 p.m. Lawrence Police are still investigating whether the 10-year-old was wearing a helmet.
