LMH employees earn accolades

A pharmacist and an administrator at Lawrence Memorial Hospital were honored recently.

¢ Jeff Pierce, clinical coordinator of the hospital’s pharmacy, received the Harold N. Godwin Award from the Kansas Society of Health-System Pharmacists at its spring meeting.

The award recognizes a pharmacy practitioner who has demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, organizational leadership or exemplary pharmacy services.

Pierce also won the society’s Board Award for Innovative Clinical Practice for a poster design. The poster, co-authored by Paola Ponce and Amanda Parker, was “Beyond ACLS: An Approach to Code Blue Response Training for Pharmacists.”

¢ Karily Taylor, director of the hospital’s Wound Healing Center, received the Outstanding Leadership in a Clinical Service Project Award from the National Healing Corp.

Taylor was recognized for exceeding expectations in continuing-education presentations. Last year, Taylor coordinated and co-presented 17 programs, educating 518 medical professionals about hyperbaric oxygen therapy, peripheral artery disease, cost-effective wound healing strategies, and wound dressing selection.
