Smaller not better

To the editor:

I wholeheartedly agree with Wednesday’s letter to the editor regarding the new format of the Journal-World. Not only does the new format make the paper much more difficult to read, but also makes major sections of interest (such as business and local) more difficult to find and share.

I also believe the rationale offered by the Journal-World regarding the reason for the change is suspect, if not intentionally misleading. To imply that Lawrence readers can’t manage to find local news unless it’s in the front section is absurd.

On the other hand, could it be less expensive to publish a three-section, rather than a four-section, newspaper? The net result is merely a smaller paper.

Go back!

Deborah Juhnke,

Lawrence
