Westar Energy Inc. will upgrade six fuses at Harvard Road and Biltmore Drive starting at 10 p.m. today.

A series of six power failures will result, each lasting about one minute to two minutes, Westar officials said.

The outages will affect approximately 450 customers in an area from Harvard and Biltmore to Sixth Street, Congressional Drive to Harvard, and Robinson Drive to Legends Drive and Stonecreek Drive. The project is expected to last one hour.

The fuses are being upgraded because additional electricity is needed in the area, according to Westar.
