Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence police Wednesday afternoon issued a 20-year-old man a citation for assault and urinating in public after he allegedly threatened a 43-year-old woman and urinated on her coat.

The man and a 53-year-old man he was with in the 3300 block of Iowa Street were reminded that it is illegal to solicit money in Lawrence, police said.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ 1400 block of New Jersey Street: Police said a 27-year-old man and 29-year-old woman reported someone broke into their home while they were sleeping and stole $1,127 in property. Police are investigating.

¢ 1918 E. 23rd St.: Police are investigating a report that on Jan. 20 someone stole $1,387 in pottery and other goods from Old World Pottery. A glass door valued at $250 was found broken.

¢ 930 E. 30th St.: A Lawrence man reported to police that between August 2003 and April 2006, someone stole $20,000 worth of original paintings that were last seen inside a storage facility. Police have contacted the storage company and are investigating.
