A woman was critically injured in a fire Sunday night in northern Lawrence.

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire and Medical Division Chief Rob Cort said crews arrived at 416 Wisconsin shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday, and saw light smoke coming from the home. When firefighters entered, they found one person inside; she was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for treatment, then transferred to a Kansas City hospital.

The woman’s name and age were not made public; the fire is still under investigation.
