Mayor Mike Amyx is seeking nominations for the city’s annual Mayor’s Excellence in Education Award.

The award honors preschool, elementary, junior high and high school teachers who have excelled at providing educational opportunities to Lawrence youths.

Nomination forms are available on the city’s Web site at www.lawrenceks.org or at the city manager’s office on the fourth floor of City Hall, Sixth and Massachusetts streets.

The nomination deadline is 5 p.m. March 5. The awards will be presented in late March. Award recipients will be recognized at the school board and city commission meetings.
