Organization names new officers, directors

The Douglas County Chapter of the American Red Cross announces the election of new officers and welcomes new board members for 2007.

Officers are Kim Murphree, of the Lawrence Police Department and KLWN radio, chairwoman; Mark Heider, of Commerce Bank, vice chairman; Janell Barnow, of the Eudora school district, secretary; and Ken Hite, of Mize, Houser & Co., treasurer.

New board members are Kathy Clausing, of Lawrence Memorial Hospital; Greg Gardner, of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; Beth Johnson, of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce; and Michele Johnson, of Cottonwood Inc.

Also: Peg Livingood, of Kansas University; Nancy O’Connor, of the Community Mercantile Co-op; Pat Roach Smith, of the Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center; Erin Thimmesch, of Lawrence High School; and Dan Ward, of the Lawrence Police Department.

Continuing board members are Mark Bradford, Kim Ens, Cody Howard, Jason Long, Peach Madl, Leanne Miller and Jeff Peterson.
