Lawrence man charged in child porn case

A 48-year-old Lawrence man faces child pornography charges stemming from August 2003, U.S. Attorney Eric Melgren’s office announced Thursday.

The man is charged with one count of possessing child pornography and one count of receiving images of child pornography via computer.

If convicted of the possession charge, he faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000. The other charge carries a penalty of five to 20 years in prison and a fine up to $250,000.
