A new buffet-style pizza restaurant is calling Lawrence home, ready to serve all-you-can-eat pizza, pasta, desserts and drinks to hungry college students, families, youth sports teams and anyone else looking for a lot of food.

Pizza Street recently opened at 4000 W. Sixth St., in a shopping center anchored by a Hy-Vee grocery store and including several smaller retailers. The new restaurant is in the space left vacant by the departure of a golf shop.

The restaurant, with seating for 200, is the 10th Pizza Street location, following up on three in the St. Louis area and another six in the Kansas City metro area – Olathe and Shawnee in Kansas, and Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, Gladstone and Independence in Missouri. The company is based in McKinney, Texas.

Ricky Dean is owner/operator for the Lawrence restaurant, which has about 30 employees and is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
