Commissioners decided not to move forward with a plan that would have eliminated the commission’s third Tuesday meeting of the month and replaced it with a morning meeting on the third Thursday of the month.

The idea was floated by Commissioner Sue Hack, who said the morning meeting might produce a better environment for commissioners to discuss long-range goals and priorities that generally did not require a vote.

A majority of commissioners, though, balked at the proposal because they feared it might make it more difficult for members of the public to attend the meeting.
