City commissioners will consider directing staff to prepare a grant application to the Kansas State Historical Society to stabilize and rehabilitate the Breezedale Monuments located 23rd and Massachusetts streets.
Cost estimates haven't yet been determined for the rehabilitation of the monuments. The Breezedale Neighborhood is on the state's register of historic places and is pending for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The stone monuments at the entrance to the neighborhood have been identified as contributing structures to the history of the neighborhood.
