Fire & Medical promotes two to division chief
Lawrence-Douglas County Fire and Medical has promoted two employees to the rank of division chief.
The department has promoted Capt. Eve Tolefree and Capt. Joe Hoelscher to division chief. Tolefree will be responsible for the department’s EMS operations and replaces Division Chief James Murray, who will be retiring this spring after 30 years with the department. Hoelscher will be assigned the department’s operations division. He replaces Division Chief Jerry Karr, who retired in September 2006.
Other promotions in the department include: Clinton Lynn and Joe Schaumburg promoted to the rank of captain, and Miguel Armenta and Robert Hardy promoted to the rank of lieutenant.
