Weather programs address safety issues

If you’re interested in protecting your family or your home during severe weather season, Douglas County Emergency Management has a program for you – Weather 101.

The free two-hour programs, featuring Jennifer Stark, warning coordination meteorologist from the National Weather Service office in Topeka, will be in Lawrence, Eudora and Baldwin City.

They will provide information about severe thunderstorm development and a discussion of severe weather safety.

All-hazard radios with on-site programming will be available during the program, at a cost.

The programs will be as follows:

¢ Lawrence: From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 15 at Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H.

¢ Eudora: From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 21 at the Eudora City Hall, 4 E. Seventh St.

¢ Baldwin City: From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 27 at Baldwin Elementary School (Intermediate Center) 100 Bullpup Drive.
