The Lawrence Schools Foundation is seeking nominees for its 2007 Educator of the Year Award.

The $1,000 award recognizes special achievement and contributions to students, according to Susan Esau, executive director of Lawrence Schools Foundation and Lawrence Education Achievement Partners.

The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. March 1. Nominations may come from any parent, student or employee of Lawrence’s public schools.

Suzanne Knowlton, a Sunflower School teacher, received the 2006 award.

This year’s award will be presented during the Foundation Follies, the annual fundraising variety show April 20 at Liberty Hall in downtown Lawrence.
