Interest stays strong for advance voting

Advance voting once again is proving popular in Douglas County.

Since advance voting began a little more than a week ago, the county clerk’s office has mailed 593 primary election ballots and 92 of them have been returned, said Keith Campbell, deputy clerk for elections. Another 103 people have voted in person at the county courthouse, 1100 Mass.

“For a primary, and considering not everyone is voting in the primary, it has been pretty steady,” Campbell said.

In-person advance voting ends at noon Feb. 26. Mail ballots must be received by 7 p.m. Feb. 27.
