An event Friday near the Kansas University campus will feature four varieties of international pancakes and crepes, plus Serbian, Macedonian, Bulgarian, Greek and Israeli folk dances.
The occasion is "Maslenitsa," a folk holiday that's the Russian equivalent of Mardi Gras.
The event, from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Ecumenical Christian Ministries Building, is sponsored by KU's Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies.
It starts with a crepe-making workshop from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., an international-dance workshop is planned.
The workshops are free, but registration is required. For more information, contact Tatyana Wilds at firstname.lastname@example.org or 864-4237.
