Route 442 to close for bridge work
Douglas County Route 442 near the Johnson County line will be closed Monday so work can begin to replace a bridge.
The bridge is less than half of a mile west of the county line that carries Route 442 over Captain Creek. Route 442 will be closed between the Kansas Highway 10 interchange and Evening Star Road in Johnson County.
A detour has been established that follows Highway 10. Local access to properties within the work zone will be maintained throughout the duration of the project. Properties east of the bridge, however, must be accessed from the east via the Evening Star Road interchange.
Construction of the bridge is expected to be mostly complete by September.
