Students invited to ‘College Goal Sunday’
A free event this weekend in Lawrence will help would-be college students and their families learn about financial aid.
The “College Goal Sunday” event will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in Room 1005 of Eaton Hall on the Kansas University campus.
Financial aid advisers can help students and their families fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, which is the first step required for students in the federal application process.
Two people who attend will receive a $500 scholarship that can be used at any college or trade school in the country, provided the student is a first-semester freshman in the fall.
Similar events will take place in 19 other locations around Kansas this weekend. The event is coordinated by the Kansas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
