Bioengineering Day is Saturday at KU

Prominent academic, business and research leaders from the region will gather Saturday in the Kansas Union for a regional Bioengineering Day coordinated by the School of Engineering at Kansas University.

The event will provide opportunities for networking as well as exploring how bioengineering affects people throughout the area. Topics include bioengineering’s effects on education, industry, science and technology, and economic development.

The program opens with a continental breakfast at 8:15 a.m. at the union, followed by presentations in Alderson Auditorium. Scheduled presenters include Tracy Taylor, president of KTEC; Angela Kreps, president of KansasBio; Paulette Spencer, distinguished professor and director of bioengineering research at KU; and Joni Cobb, president of KTEC Pipeline.

More information about speakers and the event can be found at www.engr.ku.edu.

Lunch will be provided for all participants and will be followed by an afternoon session that includes networking opportunities and bioengineering research poster presentations.

The event is free and open to all interested individuals. Advance registration is helpful, though not required. Contact Carol Gonce at cgonce@ku.edu to register.
