Jana Dobbs has been promoted to community bank president for CornerBank, Lawrence.

Bruce Schwyhart, president and chief executive officer of Winfield-based CornerBank, credits Dobbs’ marketing efforts for helping grow the bank’s assets in Lawrence from $170 million to $240 million.

Dobbs joined CornerBank in October 2003, working as director of marketing. In December 2003 she was promoted to senior vice president for relationship management, overseeing the Lawrence branch’s marketing, human resources and business development functions.

Before joining CornerBank, Dobbs worked as president and chief executive officer of the Arkansas City Area Chamber of Commerce. She also worked previously in public relations and corporate communications for Binney & Smith Inc., which is the maker of Crayola products and a subsidiary of Hallmark Cards Inc.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Kansas University.
