To the editor:

Lawrence needs “hang-out” places for teens. The only place we have is the movies and downtown. That gets boring really quickly. So I think we should build a skating rink or just a place for kids to go with their friends and hang out without their parents worrying about where they are and how safe it is.

There is Holcom, East Lawrence Center and the Community Building, but those places aren’t always fun because all we do is sit there and talk and then they end up kicking us out. The library is a place that is similar to the kind of hang-out place I’m talking about, but sometimes my mom doesn’t think it’s too safe and I personally don’t think it’s fun at all to hang out there. The only thing I do is play on the computer.

I want to go to a place where I can have fun, play games, watch movies, and talk with my friends without being kicked out!
