The 2008 personal property assessment forms will be mailed Monday by the Douglas County Appraiser’s office.

Taxpayers who had taxable personal property in 2007 will be sent the forms.

Personal property includes such items as boats, mobile homes, large trucks, business machinery and equipment. Taxpayers who own such property but do not receive a form should call the appraiser’s office at 832-5289.

The assessment form must be signed by the property owner and returned by March 15. Late filers will be subject to a penalty.
