Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical responded to a structure fire in the 1600 block of Oxford Road on Tuesday night.

Neighbors said the family that lived in the small, white house across from two Kansas University sororities all escaped safely. Douglas County property tax records show the property’s owners to be Matthew and Amanda Kapfer.

The fire seemed to be concentrated in the rear of the house.

Firefighters had the fire under control quickly, but there was no information available on a possible cause as of Tuesday night.
